A simple, elegant starter that lets Cindy's Homemade Fig Preserve take centre stage. Ready in just 15 minutes, this recipe is impressive enough for entertaining yet easy enough for any day of the week.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced into rounds
- 200g brie cheese, sliced
- 4–6 tbsp Cindy's Fig Preserve
- 2 tbsp honey
- Fresh thyme sprigs
- Olive oil for brushing
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C. Arrange baguette slices on a baking tray and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Toast in the oven for 5–7 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and immediately top each crostini with a slice of brie.
- Spoon a generous amount of Cindy's Fig Preserve over the brie.
- Drizzle with honey and finish with a sprig of fresh thyme.
- Season with a pinch of salt and cracked black pepper. Serve immediately.
Tips
For extra indulgence, pop the topped crostini back in the oven for 2 minutes to let the brie melt slightly. Pairs beautifully with a glass of white wine or sparkling juice.
